Here we've answered questions that you might be curious about. If we haven't answered something you wish to know about, feel free to send an e-mail to blrccc@unidrive.co.uk and we'll try to help you as best we can.

Q: When and where do you meet, and how often?
A: We meet usually every Sunday. Members gather around 1pm, with racing beginning at 2pm, racing usually ends around 7-8pm.

Q: Do I have to be a member to watch?
A: Certainly not, all are welcome to come and watch; we'll happily answer any questions you may have during the meeting.

Q: How many times do you race per day?
A: We currently have 3 qualifiers and 3 finals, with a brief practice session before the first qualifier. Each race lasts exactly 5 minutes.

Q: What class of car do I need to race?
A: We currently only cater for 1/10th Electric Touring Cars and 1/12th. Hopefully Micro 1/18th soon.

Q: What Classes do you race?
A: We race modified, 27t, 19t and modified motors. We strongly advise beginners start with a 27t motor.

Q: What cars do you race?
A: There's a large array of different makes and models. Ranging from Xray T2, HPI Pro4's, Losi XXX-S', Associated TC3's and Tamiya, as well as many other models.

Q: What basic rules do I have to follow?
A: With the exception of the brief practice session, you are not allowed to drive your car at all except during your specific race. This is because you may be running a crystal that'll clash with someone else, this never ends well. In addition, you are expected to marshal (Supervise and help crashed cars) during the race after your own. You will be penalised if you don't marshal after your race.

Q: What equipment do I need to race?
A: To race you'll need a touring car, as well as electrical equipment to drive it i.e. Transmitter, Receiver (Only 27 MHz ,40 MHz and 2.4GHz equipment is legal to use), an electronic speed controller, a servo. You'll need roughly 3 batteries to participate in each round, assuming you use a battery for each race and have the equipment to re-charge during other heats. As you first start out, you might be able to use a battery for two rounds thanks to the large capacity of modern batteries. You'll also need basic spare parts for your car, just in case you happen to break your car. Although, if you're running a common car someone might be able to help you.

Q: How much does it cost to race?
A: You're required to pay a £5 fee for each race meeting as a member, but £6 as a non member, but we allow new members to race 3 meetings for free.

Tyres:
As for tires we are trying to use CS-22 (available from the Club), all other tyres will be allowed except Mini-pin tires as these are strictly disallowed (as they ruin the racing surface i.e. the carpet).
There's also a yearly membership fee, which costs £25 for all, this includes the BRCA (http://www.brca.org) membership fee which is required. You receive 3rd party insurance from the BRCA included with this membership.
